Gulf of Mexico Coastal Acidification Network
GCAN, hosted by the Gulf of Mexico Coastal Ocean Observing System (GCOOS), is a collaboration of regional efforts among the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Ocean Acidification Program (OAP), as well as other federal and state resource managers, industry partners, researchers and other stakeholders throughout the Gulf of Mexico.
Social and Environmental Vulnerabilities
SOCAN and GCAN are actively collecting information on social and environmental vulnerabilities in the US Southeast (SE) and Gulf of Mexico (GoM) in response to the Intergovernmental Working Group on Ocean Acidification's (IWGOA) request for nationwide CAN engagement in identifying ocean acidification vulnerabilities, research, and monitoring priorities.
